Shortlisted as Finalist for Round Two
Develop a tool or service to help better manage future ebola outbreaks
Tracking sickness is integral to containing it. The more we track illnesses the better we can understand them and how they move.
Build on the services google maps already offers to allow citizens to self report symptoms. Doctors, health organizations and researchers can also report cases, confirm cases, and use the raw data.
DYNAMIC HEALTH TRACKING
Any citizen can turn on google pulse to see self-reported cases as pins. Illnesses are reported as a set of symptoms and sorted by suspected severity.
Doctors and hospitals use a second layer to confirm cases and have access to raw data in order to filter symptoms and find suspected cases of major disease and outbreaks.
Just like any other google service you turn it on right from the map whether you're on computer or mobile.
Cases are visible by symptom but also by time frame. Set date parameters to see how new reports of illness have emerged over a specific period of time.
